Perfect match: You and… volunteering!

In the post I wrote several months ago titled “5 Examples to Heat Up Your Heart by Networking,” volunteering not only is good for the community, but also, for our heart as well. Pick a project, harvest a cause, take a mission and then actually roll up our sleeves and participate.

Yes, are we going to get dirty, or nasty, or unpleasant sometimes as we try to clean up debris that will eventually be a playground; or create a new house from scratch; or give comfort to the family who lost everything because of a hurricane or tornado; absolutely.

But at the end of the day, we are helping people all across the world even if it’s a moment in time that is fleeting. We are doing something that is right. We are doing something that is noble. We are doing something that is extraordinarily one-of-a-kind.

Positively persistent means to come to grips with the fact that everyone needs a helping hand from time to time; maybe this is our time to help other people, too.

To me, that’s a higher ideal…

  1. Yes, volunteer! But you can also be creative. This past year, I’ve made myself available, given of my time to a person who really needs a friend, needs encouragement, often when it’s not convenient. I know I’ve help make a difference, in both our lives.
